This guide explains how to use the Orchard72 platform features for creating and managing multiple wills. For legal advice about multiple wills or jurisdiction selection, consult with a qualified legal professional.
How Orchard72 Handles Multiple Wills
Our platform is designed to help you create multiple wills, one at a time. Each will is saved separately in your account and can be for a different jurisdiction.
One Will at a Time
The platform guides you through creating one complete will before starting another
Separate Jurisdiction Selection
Each will can be created for a different country and jurisdiction independently
One Place to Manage Them
All your wills appear on the "Your Wills" page for easy access and management
Creating Your First Will
- Start Will Creation - Click "Create New Will" on the "Your Wills" page, or from the "Will Management" section of the menu
- Select Jurisdiction - Choose the country (and state or region if applicable) for your will at Step 2, "Age & Jurisdiction"
- Complete All Steps - Follow the guided process to complete all sections of your will
- Choose a Reviewer and Finalise - At Step 12 you select an independent qualified professional to review your will, which is required before it can be finalised
- Access from "Your Wills" - Your will now appears on the "Your Wills" page, where you can open it, download it as a PDF, or continue editing it until it is finalised
Creating Additional Wills
After completing your first will, you can create additional wills for different jurisdictions:
- Go to "Your Wills" - Navigate to the "Your Wills" page, where you'll see the wills you have already started or completed
- Click "Create New Will" - Use the "Create New Will" button to start a fresh will creation process
- Select Different Jurisdiction - Choose a different country or jurisdiction for this new will
- Complete Independently - Fill out all sections for this new will - it's treated as completely separate from your first will
- Manage Both Wills - Both wills now appear on the "Your Wills" page and can be managed independently
Platform Workflow Examples
Example 1: England Resident with Irish Property
Sarah lives in England but owns a holiday home in Ireland. Here's how she uses our platform:
- Creates her first will selecting "United Kingdom - England" as jurisdiction
- Includes her UK assets, property, and bank accounts
- Has it reviewed by an independent professional, then finalises it
- Starts a new will selecting "Ireland" as jurisdiction
- Includes her Irish property and any Irish assets
- Completes the Irish will as a separate document
- Now manages both wills independently from "Your Wills"
Example 2: International Expat
David is a US citizen living in Australia with assets in both countries:
- Creates his first will for Australia (current residence)
- Includes his Australian bank accounts and his apartment
- Later creates a second will selecting "United States"
- Includes his US retirement accounts and family home
- Downloads each will as a PDF once it has been finalised
- Updates each will independently as circumstances change
Will generation is available for a set list of jurisdictions. If you choose a country we do not yet cover, Step 2 explains that it is outside our current coverage instead of continuing, and you can register to be notified when it is ready or create a will for a different jurisdiction. Where we do not generate the will ourselves but verified professionals cover that country, the step offers to put you in touch with one instead.
Platform Features for Multi-Will Management
Independent Creation
Each will is created separately with its own jurisdiction, assets, and beneficiaries
Separate Editing
Edit one will without affecting others - changes are saved independently
Individual Downloads
Download each will separately in PDF format for legal review or execution
Different Executors
Choose different executors and beneficiaries for each will based on jurisdiction
Platform Tips & Best Practices
- Complete one will fully before starting another to avoid confusion
- Know how your wills are labelled - each will is listed by its jurisdiction, with a number added (for example "Ireland #2") if you have more than one for the same place. There is no separate name field, so use the jurisdiction and the last-updated date to tell them apart
- Keep track of assets included in each will to avoid overlaps or omissions
- Update both wills if your circumstances change significantly
- Download completed wills and store them securely outside the platform
- Review regularly to ensure both wills remain current and accurate
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I create multiple wills on the platform?
Yes, you can create as many separate wills as needed. Each will is created one at a time and saved independently in your dashboard.
Will my second will copy information from my first?
No, each will is created independently. You'll need to enter all information separately for each will, including jurisdiction, assets, and beneficiaries.
How do I access my different wills?
All your wills appear on the "Your Wills" page. From there you can open a will for details, continue one you have not finished, or edit one that is not yet finalised. Downloading the PDF is done from the will's own page.
Can I edit one will without affecting the others?
Yes, each will is completely independent on our platform. Changes to one will don't affect any of your other wills.
Can I create wills for different family members?
The platform is designed for individual users to create their own wills. Each account should only be used by one person for their own will creation.
Is there a limit to how many wills I can create?
There is no limit on the number of wills you can create. What your plan does set is how many times each individual will can be generated by our AI drafting step. When you reach that allowance for a will, you are told how many you have used and offered an upgrade.
