Dominican Republic and U.S. sign agreement to develop critical minerals and rare earths

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic and the United States have agreed to expand cooperation on the extraction, processing and development of critical minerals and rare earth elements , with the goal of strengthening supply chains and attracting investment. The new Cooperation Framework will allow both countries to identify strategic projects, explore financing opportunities and promote the development of mineral resources considered essential to the technology, energy and industrial sectors. The agreement was signed by Dominican Foreign Minister Víctor-Ito Bisonó and U.S. Ambassador Leah F. Campos, with Energy and Mines Minister Joel Santos Echavarría also present. Bisonó said the framework represents an opportunity for the Dominican Republic to develop its natural resources while ensuring they generate greater economic value and benefits for the country. He described the initiative as part of the government’s economic diplomacy strategy to attract investment and strengthen strategic industries.

Dominican Republic and Honduras seek to expand trade and investment

Tegucigalpa.- The Dominican Republic and Honduras strengthened their economic and trade ties during the fourth Business Forum on Export, Import, Investment and Tourism , held at the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) in Honduras. The forum, organized with the support of the Dominican Embassy in Honduras , brought together government officials, business leaders and private-sector representatives from both countries to promote trade, attract investment and develop strategic partnerships. The Dominican delegation included government officials Andrés Lugo, Zanony Severino, Mérido Torres, Welinton Grullón and David Herrera, along with more than 24 business representatives from sectors including rum, real estate, auto parts, vehicles, jewelry and guayaberas. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral trade, identifying new export and import opportunities, simplifying logistics, promoting foreign direct investment and exploring public-private partnerships. Tourism was also a key area of discussion, with participants examining opportunities for investment in tourism infrastructure and the exchange of best practices from the Dominican Republic’s hotel and tourism industry.

JAC and VFS Global discuss improving visa services and traveler experience
