Barron Trump accused of 'brazen and greedy' plot to bring in $40 million from family ties

Barron Trump is still in college, and according to an estimate cited by The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board, he has already made about $40 million from his family's cryptocurrency business. The editorial board included the figure , which comes from Forbes, in a Saturday editorial on how members of the Trump family have profited during President Donald Trump's second term. "Even Trump's youngest son, Barron, 20, who is still in college, made an estimated $40 million off the family's crypto venture," the board wrote. The venture is World Liberty Financial, which Trump launched in September 2024 with his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. Barron was listed in the company's early promotional materials as its "DeFi visionary." The editorial board said the company raised conflict-of-interest concerns from the start. It pointed to a firm tied to the United Arab Emirates that paid $500 million for a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial four days before Trump's inauguration, citing the Wall Street Journal.

Crypto Prime Broker GCEX Promotes Gulf Sales Executive to Head Dubai Unit

GCEX promoted Alya Marrakchi to managing director of GC Exchange FZE, its Dubai-based crypto broker-dealer, today (Monday). The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) approved the appointment, according to the announcement. Marrakchi joined the sales team of London-headquartered GCEX in June 2025 to build institutional relationships across the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf. GCEX said she grew its regional client base and pipeline over that period. Founded in 2018, GCEX sells crypto and FX liquidity, prime brokerage and white-label technology to institutional and professional clients. The Dubai entity is the only GCEX business licensed by VARA and serves qualified and institutional investors. The UK arm, which offers FX and CFDs, reported turnover of £2.77 million and a pre-tax loss of £545,191 for 2025 , after spending on staff, compliance and marketing .
