Partner Programme Terms

About these terms: The Partner Programme unifies four referral flows under a single offer — refer a friend, a professional, a client, or a colleague. These terms supplement our main Terms of Service and apply to anyone participating as introducer or introducee. By using your referral code or sharing your link, you agree to these terms.

We run TheWILL.ai (estate planning), Expat183 (tracking the days you spend in each country) and Orchard72 (portfolio tracking). The Partner Programme rewards described below are earned and redeemed on the TheWILL.ai platform only; no introduction made on the other sites qualifies under these terms.

1. The Offer

When a person you introduce signs up and reaches a paid subscription:

  • Introducer (you) receive the published number of months of Gold-tier subscription credit
  • Introducee (the person you introduced) receives the published number of months of subscription credit on their chosen plan

The offer applies uniformly across all four flows — consumer-to-consumer, consumer-to-professional, professional-to-consumer, and professional-to-professional — with no per-audience asymmetry.

The current reward amounts are published on the Partner Programme page (linked in section 12). We may amend the amounts under section 9 below.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Who may participate

The Partner Programme is open to all registered users on any plan, including the Free tier. Both introducer and introducee must be genuine, separate individuals.

2.2 Account requirements

Each registered user receives a unique referral code and shareable link. Self-referrals are not permitted, and a single introducee cannot be claimed twice (the first valid claim wins).

2.3 Regional availability

Subscriptions and paid products are not available in all regions. If the introducee's payment method is issued in a region where paid products are not currently available, no qualifying event can occur and no reward accrues. See our main Terms of Service for the regions list.

3. Qualifying Event

A "qualifying event" is the moment the introducee completes a paid subscription after applying your referral code at sign-up or under the "apply referral code" flow in their account. Free-tier activity, trial periods that never convert, and chargebacks do not count as qualifying events.

Rewards are granted shortly after the qualifying event, subject to the clawback window in section 5.

4. Reward Grant Timing and Claim

4.1 If you are on a paid plan

Introducer rewards are applied automatically to your existing subscription as additional free months. Your billing schedule pauses for the reward period and resumes at your current renewal price when the reward period ends.

4.2 If you are on the Free tier

You must provide a valid payment method within 30 days of earning the reward to activate it. No charge is taken at the time of activation; your plan upgrades immediately and billing begins at the plan's monthly price (displayed and locked in at the time of activation) once the reward period ends. We send a reminder by email at least seven days before the reward period ends so you know paid billing is about to begin at the locked-in price. You may cancel at any time without penalty.

Unclaimed rewards expire 30 days after being earned and cannot be reactivated. We send a reminder by email at least seven days before a reward is due to expire so you have time to claim it. Multiple unclaimed rewards on a Free-tier account aggregate — one payment-method activation releases the whole pending balance.

4.3 Cumulative rewards

Rewards are cumulative subject to a fair-use limit of the published number of completed referrals per rolling 30-day window per account. The current fair-use limit is shown on your referral dashboard and may be updated from time to time on at least 90 days' notice. Each reward period begins after the previous one ends; rewards do not overlap.

5. Clawback

The clawback window is the period during which the introducee's qualifying payment can still be refunded or made subject to a chargeback under the rules of the payment method used. If that payment is refunded in full, or a chargeback against it succeeds, within this period, any rewards granted in respect of that qualifying event will be revoked. Where the reward has not yet been consumed, it is removed from your balance; where it has been consumed, the underlying subscription credit is reversed and your account reverts to its pre-reward state.

Clawback is enforced automatically — there is no manual review step. We will notify you by email when a previously granted reward is revoked.

6. No Cash Equivalent

Partner Programme rewards are service credit only. They cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded as currency, transferred between accounts, or sold to third parties. Rewards have no monetary value outside the platform.

We do not operate a cash-payout, revenue-share, or affiliate-commission scheme through the Partner Programme. Separate commercial arrangements with TheWILL.ai (for example, the Stripe-routed client revenue share available to verified legal professionals) are governed by their own agreements and are not part of these terms.

7. Professional Restriction

Where the introducer is a professional listed on the platform, whether a legal professional, accountant, will writer or other regulated adviser, or an end-of-life support professional such as a funeral director, funeral celebrant, end-of-life doula, bereavement counsellor or grief support practitioner, the reward accrues to the professional's own subscription account. Rewards may not be passed on, rebated, gifted, or otherwise transferred to a client or prospective client. That applies however the reward is described and whoever it would reach, including a bereaved family the introducer is currently serving. The introducer must consider whether sharing a referral link with a client is consistent with their own professional, regulatory, or fiduciary obligations, and with the circumstances that client is in.

Professionals participating in the Partner Programme remain subject to the Professional Terms and Conditions in addition to these terms.

8. Fair Use and Anti-Abuse

8.1 Rate limit

Each introducer is limited to the published number of successful (qualifying) referrals in any rolling 30-day window. Pending sign-ups that have not yet reached a qualifying event do not count towards the limit.

8.2 Prohibited conduct

The following are not permitted and may result in revoked rewards, suspension of the referral feature on your account, or termination of your account:

  • Creating multiple accounts to generate referrals to yourself or to inflate qualifying-event counts
  • Using disposable, role-based, or temporary email addresses for invitations
  • Automated or bulk sharing of referral links through spam channels, purchased traffic, or paid-search advertising on TheWILL.ai brand terms
  • Incentivising sign-ups outside the platform with cash, equivalents, or undisclosed kickbacks
  • Misrepresenting our service, pricing, regulatory status, or your relationship with TheWILL.ai to prospective introducees

8.3 Email invitations

You may invite specific individuals by providing their email address. A system-generated invitation is sent on your behalf. You must only invite people with whom you have a genuine relationship and a reasonable expectation of interest. Bulk unsolicited invitations are not permitted.

9. Programme Variation and Termination

We may change the reward amounts, rate limit, eligibility, or any other term of the Partner Programme with at least 90 days' notice, posted to this page and (where we hold a verified email address for you) sent by email. Reward amounts already accrued at the time of a change will be honoured under the terms in effect at the time the qualifying event occurred.

We may discontinue the Partner Programme entirely on the same 90 days' notice. Existing unclaimed rewards remain claimable for the 30-day window described in section 4.2; rewards earned but not yet claimed at the end of that window expire on the same basis as during normal operation.

If we discontinue the Partner Programme because we are discontinuing the service altogether, rewards you have already earned are honoured or paid during the notice period. If we enter administration or liquidation, an unpaid balance ranks as an unsecured claim, which may be paid in part or not at all; reward balances are not held separately from our own funds. This is given as information about how the law would treat such a claim, not as a term you are agreeing to.

We may suspend or terminate your participation immediately for breach of section 8 (Fair Use) or where your account is suspended under our main Terms of Service.

10. Tax

Partner Programme rewards may constitute a taxable benefit in your jurisdiction depending on your circumstances, status, and local rules. You are responsible for any tax obligations arising from rewards you receive, and for any reporting that may be required. We do not provide tax advice and will not issue tax documentation for Partner Programme rewards. If you are unsure, consult a qualified tax adviser.

11. Data Handling

We process personal data relating to the Partner Programme — your referral code, the email addresses you invite, the link between your account and any qualifying introducees, and reward-grant and clawback records — in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We retain referral records for as long as your account is active and for the period required to honour clawback and accounting obligations.

An invited recipient's email address is stored only to match the referral when they register. If the invited person does not register, the address is retained for the limited period needed to operate the programme and is not used for marketing purposes.

12. Relationship to Main Terms

These Partner Programme Terms supplement, and do not replace, our main Terms of Service. Where there is a conflict between these terms and the main Terms of Service in respect of the Partner Programme, these terms prevail to the extent of the conflict. All other provisions of the main Terms of Service — including governing law, dispute resolution, and limitation of liability — continue to apply.

The umbrella programme is described in plain language at /partner-programme.
