Corporate Privacy FAQ

We take your privacy seriously. Here are answers to common questions about how your data is protected within your employer’s corporate benefit programme.

Last reviewed

What can my employer see?

Can my employer see my will?

No. Your employer cannot see your will, documents, or personal details. They only receive anonymous usage statistics.

What data does my employer receive?

Your employer sees only aggregate programme statistics (e.g., ‘89 employees completed a will’). Individual activity is never shared.

Examples of aggregate data your employer may see:

  • Total number of employees who have activated their benefit
  • Number of employees who have started or completed a will
  • Numbers of documents uploaded, video messages recorded and legal reviews booked across the whole programme
  • Overall feature adoption rates (e.g. document vault usage)
  • Month-by-month activation and deactivation trends

Small group protection

When only a small number of employees use a feature, the count is suppressed to prevent identification. Until enough employees have activated their benefit, no usage figures are shown to your employer at all.

Can my employer see which features I use?

No. Your employer sees only aggregate counts across all employees. They cannot see whether you specifically have used any particular feature. Individual activity is never shared.

Your data ownership

Who owns my data?

You do. Your will, documents, digital assets, and all personal data belong to you, not your employer. If you leave the organisation, you keep everything.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Your data stays exactly as it is. When your employment ends, your corporate benefit will be deactivated, but your account, will, documents, and all personal data remain yours. You can continue with a personal subscription or use the free tier.

Your employer keeps their own record that you took part, marked as deactivated, along with the audit log of administrative actions. That record covers only your participation in the programme, never anything from your account.

Can my employer delete my data?

No. Your employer has no ability to access, modify, or delete your personal data, will, or documents. Only you control your account.

Data security

How is my data protected?

All data is encrypted both in transit (TLS) and at rest. Your will and documents are stored using the same security standards as personal accounts. Your employer's corporate plan does not change how your data is secured.

Who at my employer can administer the programme?

Your employer designates programme administrators, each in one role that limits what they can do.

These administrators have no access to any employee's will, documents, video messages or estate details. What they do see is the administrative record of your participation: the work email they invited, the email on your account, any department or employee ID they recorded, and whether your benefit is invited, active or deactivated. Their own actions, such as inviting or deactivating you, are written to an audit log they can read.

Leaving your employer

What happens when I leave my job?

  • Your will and all documents remain in your account
  • Your corporate benefit access ends, but your data stays
  • You can upgrade to a personal subscription to keep premium features
  • If you had a personal subscription before, it will automatically resume
  • Nothing is ever deleted, and your data is yours permanently

Peace of mind

Your estate plan is too important to depend on your employment status. That's why we ensure your data always stays with you, regardless of changes to your corporate benefit.
