Creator and Affiliate Programme
For creators and publishers who want to earn commission by introducing an audience. This guide covers applying, being reviewed, the tracking link you are given, and how a commission becomes a payout.
What This Programme Is
The Creator and Affiliate Programme pays commission in cash to people who introduce an audience: creators, publishers, educators and anyone with a channel of their own. Commission follows a paid conversion, so it is earned rather than paid for reach.
This is not the Partner Programme
The two are separate and pay in different currencies. The Partner Programme rewards personal introductions with free subscription time and is open to anyone with an account. This one pays cash commission to an approved external creator, and it has an application step the Partner Programme does not.
The rate, the recurring term, the attribution window and the point at which a balance can be paid out are all shown on the programme page itself, which reads them live. They are not repeated here for exactly that reason.
Applying to Join
No account needed
The application form sits on the programme page and can be submitted without signing up. Nothing is created behind the scenes at this point: an application is a request to be reviewed, not an account.
What the form asks for
- Who you are: name, email address and country
- Where your audience is: your main platform and your handle there, plus the size of that audience
- What you cover: the lane your content sits in, whether that is estate and legal education, personal finance and life admin, or digital nomad and expat life
- Anything else: other channels you publish on, and a free-text note if there is context worth adding
The submit button stays disabled until every required field is filled in and the programme terms are accepted, so a half-finished application cannot be sent by accident.
One application at a time
An email address can have only one application under review at once. Sending the form again while an application is still open does not create a second one and does not move it up any queue. Once an application has been decided, that address is free to apply again.
How an Application Is Reviewed
Submitting the form brings back an acknowledgement on screen and an email confirming the application arrived. Every application is then read by a person rather than scored automatically, so there is no instant answer and no status page to refresh.
- Approved: an email arrives carrying the tracking link, the code that goes with it, and what to do next
- Declined: an email arrives with the reason recorded against the decision
Approval is what creates the creator account. Until then there is nothing to sign in to, which is why the outcome arrives by email rather than in the app.
Your Link and How Attribution Works
Approval issues one tracking code, and the link in the approval email carries it. The code is deliberately built from characters that cannot be misread, so there is no confusing a capital O for a zero when it is spoken aloud in a video or printed in a caption.
What the link does
Someone arriving through the link has the code remembered in their browser. If they sign up and go on to subscribe, that signup is attributed to you. Attribution is last-click, so the most recent creator link a visitor followed is the one that counts, and it lasts for the window shown on the programme page.
Where to watch it
Once approved, the Affiliate Dashboard under Account is where the link, the code, the signups and the commission balance live. The day-to-day mechanics of that screen are covered in the Affiliate Programme article.
From Commission to Payout
A signup on its own earns nothing. Commission is created when the person you introduced pays, whether that is a subscription or a will, and it then moves through a fixed set of states.
- Pending: the payment has happened and the commission is recorded but not yet confirmed
- Approved: the commission has been confirmed and is counted towards your balance
- Payable: it has cleared the point at which it can be settled
- Paid: it has been included in a payout
- Clawed back: the underlying payment was refunded or charged back in full, which reverses the commission
There is no payout button
Payouts are recorded rather than requested. A payout settles a set of payable commissions and is arranged outside the app, so there is no request control to look for on the dashboard and nothing goes missing by not pressing it. An email confirms a payout once it has been made.
Your first commission is marked with an email of its own, sent once rather than every time, so it is a milestone rather than a running notification.
Promoting Responsibly
The programme requires promotion to be disclosed as affiliate promotion wherever it appears. Some plans are excluded from earning commission, and the programme page lists which. Both points, along with the circumstances in which an account can be suspended, are governed by the programme terms linked from the application form, and the terms take precedence over this summary wherever the two read differently.
